“Klopp’s ability to turn talents of his type into consistent performers has to make him the kind of player who could thrive at Anfield.”

“The appeal I think pushes any hearing beyond the close of the transfer window.”
19.50 UPDATE: Arsenal told to spend
Arsenal boss Unai Emery needs to be given a higher transfer budget if he is to succeed in the Premier League next season, Robert Pires claims.
Emery is believed to have a transfer budget of just £40million this summer.
The Spaniard has acknowledged his need to spend, and Pires believes extra funds is the only chance Emery has.
“I read that Arsenal have a small envelope for transfers, only £40m,” Pires said.
“My opinion is that it isn’t enough. If you want to build a good team, you need to spend a lot of money, especially in the Premier League.
“I respect Arsenal’s position and the owner, but everybody knows that if you want to win the Premier League, you need to spend a lot of money.
“All the top clubs want to sign great players, but if you want a great player it costs a lot of money.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been backed to make moves for Tottenham stars Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min this summer.
Reds hero John Aldridge wants Klopp to dip into the transfer market – and he has suggested Tottenham stars Moura and Son as potential signings.
Aldridge wrote for The Sunday World: “Moura is a tricky forward who could slot into the team if any of the front three were out and the same could be said of his team-mate Son Heung-min, although I would be surprised if Spurs allowed the South Korean to leave after his outstanding season.
“It may be that Klopp and his excellent team of scouts have an ace up their sleeves as they look for an extra striker, with their signings over the last couple of years confirming they tend to get things right when they bring players to Anfield, so I’m confident they will get this one right.”

Frank Lampard will NOT get more money to spend in the transfer market just because of his relationship with Roman Abramovich, according to Shaka Hislop.
“Maybe you’re thinking, given the relationship between Lampard and Abramovich when he was a player and those two seemed to have a bit of a bond and grew close, that Abramovich is going to back him a bit more,” he said.
“I don’t see that happening at all given how arms-length Abramovich has been over recent years.
“Those arguments don’t hold any water for me so I just don’t see why Chelsea have decided to go in this direction at all.”
